Dart Fresh Produce has been a family run business since 1957, supplying produce to the Wholesale, Multiple, Retail and Catering Trades.
We work very closely with many local and national growers, making sure we are guaranteed the best quality British produce throughout the seasons.
As the seasons change, and it is not possible for British produce, we go from continent to continent to gather the finest fresh produce. This allows us, and you, to get it in its prime condition.
We can now source most produce 12 months a year by following the changing seasons across the globe.
We offer fresh deliveries 6 days a week, a second delivery for those busy days, as well as deliveries on Sundays and bank holidays for those little emergencies too. This is all for our varied customer base across the South West.
Dart Fresh was started as a wholesale fruit and vegetable merchant by Colin Dart as C.J. Dart Exeter. Geoff Pritchard joined the business one month later.
Supermarket supplies grew with produce being delivered including potatoes, swedes, white cabbage and cauliflower.
Geoff took the opportunity to run Dart Fresh and John Pritchard (his son) entered the business.
Steven Smith joined and brought dry goods, dairy and frozen to Dart Fresh.
Jamie Walsh (John's son-in-law) joined the business. Soon after Bryan Howard also joined to add a full range of locally sourced, fully sustainable meat.
EXPAC was created by five local farmers, and we started supplying supermarkets. These included Tesco and Marks and Spencers.
Colin Dart took over EXPAC and merged it into the the Dart Fresh business.
John started to enhance the food service side of the business.
Following considerable growth in the business, Dart Fresh became a Limited Company.
